Hello readers, I hope you are doing well.
This week, instead of observations or life lessons, I simply want to share my Weekend Recovery. Sometimes, slowing down becomes the story itself, and after the week I’ve had, a quiet weekend is exactly what I need.
A Quick Health Update
Last Thursday, I mentioned that I had a fever. Here is the full update.
The fever lasted on Wednesday and Thursday. Even after it went away, I had a terrible headache and extreme weakness. Simple things like taking a bath felt exhausting. By the time I came out of the bathroom, I was so tired and breathless that I needed to sit down and rest.
Thankfully, I slowly started feeling better, and by Sunday, it seemed like everything was finally returning to normal.
Just as I thought the worst was behind me, my body had another surprise in store.
Weekend Recovery After an Unexpected Allergy
I developed an allergic reaction, and slowly hives appeared on my hands and legs. They were incredibly itchy and uncomfortable. By Monday, I realized it was serious enough to visit the doctor.
I took anti-allergy medicine, and now I am almost back to normal. The only thing that still comes and goes is the itching, but thankfully, it is much better than before. This was definitely not how I imagined my Weekend Recovery, but I am grateful that things are improving.
More than the fever or the hives, what surprised me the most was how quickly my energy disappeared. I never imagined that simple daily tasks could feel so difficult. It made me realize that good health is not just about being free from illness. It is also about having the energy to enjoy everyday life, even the little things we usually take for granted.
Weekend Recovery Means Taking It Slow
After a week filled with fever, weakness, fatigue, and hives, I am ready for a very uneventful weekend.
I simply want to rest, regain my energy, and let my body recover completely. I still feel a little lightheaded while writing this, so I know I need to slow down for a few more days.
This week reminded me that sometimes our body decides the pace for us. No matter how many plans we have, recovery has to come first.
If you’ve ever had a week where your body slowed you down, you’ll know how precious quiet weekends can be.
Sometimes, doing nothing is exactly what our body needs, and that is what my Weekend Recovery is all about.
Weekend Recovery in Simple Moments
This weekend, I want to sit on my bed with the window open, look at the endless blue sky, and enjoy the fresh air.
I am completely okay with having a boring weekend. There is something comforting about watching daylight slowly turn into evening while you rest, read, think, or simply enjoy your own company.
Not every weekend has to be exciting. Sometimes, the quiet ones are the most healing.
A Small Reminder
Please take care of yourself.
If you have allergies, try your best to stay away from the things that trigger them. When my doctor asked, “Why did you eat it?” my only answer was, “How long was I supposed to stay away from it?”
After dealing with hives, I have realized that avoiding the trigger is much better than getting sick again. It may not always be easy, but it is definitely worth it.
Health is something we often take for granted until our body reminds us to slow down. I hope my Weekend Recovery reminds you to listen to your body and give yourself the rest you need.
Have you ever had a week where your body forced you to slow down? How do you usually spend a weekend when you’re recovering? I’d love to hear your experience in the comments.
Thank you for spending a little part of your day with me.
If today’s reflection resonated with you, I’d love for you to join me again at The Cozy Café, where we celebrate quiet weekends, healing moments, and the simple joy of just being.
Until next time, take care of yourself.
