Yesterday, I finally snapped.
You know those days when you have been quiet for so long, ignoring things, letting things go, and saying, “Okay, fine, whatever”? And then suddenly, one more little thing happens and you’re just DONE?
Yeah. That was me.
There are some people around us who have this strange talent for pecking at you again and again until you completely lose your patience. I had already ignored it for days. I had said, “Please stop. Don’t do this.” More than once.
But apparently, that wasn’t enough.
My Rants About Life Start With One Simple Thing
I am a person who follows a timetable. I like knowing what I am doing and when I am doing it. So yes, I get irritated when my time is wasted just because someone else thinks talking is more important.
At one point, I was very adamant that I wasn’t going to do something because I didn’t want my time wasted.
Fair enough, right?
Except somehow, months later, I am STILL hearing about it.
“I told you.”
“You wasted your time.”
“If you had done this…”
“If you had listened…”
Again.
And again.
And again.
At this point, I don’t even care about the original thing anymore. I am irritated because why are we still talking about it?
See the Reel that started this rant 💅
And it isn’t just one thing. It feels like everything becomes another opportunity to remind me of something I did, didn’t do, should have done, or apparently should have done differently.
Honestly, I have enough Rants About Life without keeping a historical record of every little thing I’ve ever done wrong.
Then Come the Family Rants About Life
And then there is family.
Sometimes my mother is angry with my father and needs to vent. I understand that. A few minutes? Fine.
But when it keeps going and going and going…
Oh God.
I have limitations too!
I don’t want to listen to the same argument for an hour. And somehow, I end up feeling like I have to choose.
Who is right?
Who is wrong?
Whose side are you on?
Why?
Why do I have to choose between my parents?
I absolutely hate the question, “Who do you love more, your mom or your dad?”
Can’t a child love both?
Why does choosing one have to mean hurting the other?
And sometimes I don’t even want to know who is right or wrong. I just want both of you to solve your own problem.
Please.
Leave me out of it.
And the funniest part? Sometimes they both end up teaming up against me anyway.
So now I’m sitting there thinking…
How did I become part of this argument?
Maybe I’m Just Tired
So yes, that post I made yesterday—
“I’m at that stage of life where your shit is no longer my problem. Please take it elsewhere. 💅”
—wasn’t completely random.
I had finally reached my limit.
Sometimes you don’t want another explanation. You don’t want another reminder. You don’t want another argument. You don’t want to hear about something that happened six months ago for the hundredth time.
You just want peace.
Maybe that’s what these Rants About Life are really for.
Not advice.
Not solutions.
Just a place to say:
“I am tired. Please take your problems somewhere else for five minutes.”
And honestly, I think that’s okay.
