Not Just Things, But Street Friends
When people talk about finding treasures on the street, they often mean coins, trinkets, or forgotten objects. For me, the best things I have ever found are not things at all, but living beings — my furry Street Friends.
They may not have a home with me, but somehow, they have found a little place in my heart.
Joy in Every Greeting
Every time I walk down the lane, I am welcomed by wagging tails and soft purrs. The dogs come running toward me with boundless energy, bouncing and barking with happiness. The cats approach with their curious eyes and talkative meows, ready to share a little moment.
These simple greetings can turn an ordinary walk into something I look forward to.
A Pure Five Minutes of Bliss
Most of these encounters last only five to ten minutes, but those few minutes can feel like pure bliss.
They don’t ask for much. Sometimes all they want is a gentle pat, a scratch behind the ears, or simply a little attention. There is something beautiful about how easily they enjoy these small moments.
They remind me that happiness doesn’t always need gifts, money, or grand gestures. Sometimes, it is simply being there.
Positivity and Acceptance
My furry companions bring a special kind of positivity into my life. They remind me that even when some days are difficult, there can still be little moments of happiness waiting around the corner.
There are no judgmental eyes or complicated conversations — just acceptance.
Their affection is uncomplicated and genuine. A wagging tail, a soft purr, or an excited little greeting can be enough to make my day better.
Perhaps that is why I treasure these encounters so much. They have taught me that kindness can be quiet, simple, and still incredibly powerful.
Truly, my Street Friends are some of the best gifts the road has ever given me.
