Thinking about what my parents were doing at my age, their lives were quite different from mine. Their relationship was often filled with conflict, and even today, they still don’t get along. They’ve always had a lot of misunderstandings and arguments.

The Early Years

When they were younger, my parents’ relationship was full of fights. They couldn’t agree on many things, and this caused a lot of tension at home. I remember times when the quiet after their arguments felt as heavy as the shouting. Their struggles affected everyone around them, shaping how I see relationships and conflict.

The Impact on Family

Growing up in a home where fighting was normal made it hard to feel stable. Their arguments created a heavy atmosphere, making it hard to form close family bonds. Love was there, but it was often hidden behind resentment and unspoken words.

Attempts at Resolution

Despite their problems, they never went for counseling or professional help. They thought they could handle their issues alone, but this just led to more repeated arguments and unresolved conflicts.

The Present Situation

Today, they have learned to live together, but the cracks in their relationship are still there. Time has made some things better, but not enough to fix what was broken. They move forward, not really together, but side by side, carrying their unresolved issues. Haruki Murakami once wrote, “What happens when people open their hearts?” “They get better.” But when people don’t open their hearts, old wounds stay and affect how they treat others. “The broken will always hurt others.”

Reflection and Moving Forward

Watching their struggles has taught me that unresolved conflict doesn’t just go away. It stays and shapes our lives. Their story has shown me the importance of communication, understanding, and working through problems rather than ignoring them.

Their journey may not have the happy ending one might hope for, but it has taught me valuable lessons. Some relationships don’t heal, but we can still learn from them. Their experiences have pushed me to seek peace, take care of my relationships, and remember that real, lasting love requires work, patience, and the willingness to heal.
